ABOUT

Lingua is Seattle Pacific University’s art journal, featuring original music, poetry, artwork, and prose by SPU students and staff.

Every spring, Lingua publishes a journal comprised of the best that the SPU art community has to offer. Our all-student Boards look through each submission to seek out the most original and captivating pieces of art: the Art Board finds the abstract and beautiful in paintings, sculpture, and photography; the Writing Board finds the eloquent and thought-provoking in prose and poetry; the Music Board finds the rhythmically profound in both vocal and instrumental songs.

Throughout the year, Lingua hosts several events, such as concerts, open-mic nights, poetry readings and art parties, to facilitate a place where the artistic underground of SPU can come above ground and enjoy the company of people who are like them, who have a love and appreciation for the arts.

We have a lot planned for Lingua this year, and it won’t be possible without you. If you’d like to get involved with Lingua or volunteer to help with Lingua events, contact lingua@spu.edu for more information.

  • I’m sure this question is too late, but I was wondering about the deadline for submitting pieces to be included in the 2009/2010 journal.

Also, it might be a problem with my laptop, but some of your pictures are not uploading. Thought you would want to look into that.

(I prefer my GMail account, but my SPU account is ashpok@spu.edu. That way, you know I’m legit ;)

    Thanks!
